Ammonium thiosulfate ((NH4)2S2O3) is an inorganic salt used as a rapid photographic fixer, a fertilizer providing both nitrogen and sulfur to plants, and in chemical analysis. It is a white crystalline solid, though often encountered as a clear liquid solution, and is highly soluble in water. As a fertilizer, it provides sulfur that is gradually converted to sulfate for plant uptake, and it can also act as a reducing agent and bleaching agent.
